The AUGMERIS Calculator Receives This Year’s Strix Award
Budapest, March 24, 2026 – The professional jury of Hungary's first complex corporate Artificial Intelligence competition has recognized Hospitaly's AUGMERIS (Augmented Medication Risk Score) calculator as one of the year's most defining AI-based developments.
Awarded on March 20th during the AI Summit, the prize honors Hospitaly's pioneering development that enlists artificial intelligence to enhance patient safety. The AUGMERIS calculator is an intelligent web application that supports the work of hospital pharmacists and doctors by providing automated analysis of patients' medication risks.

The system's uniqueness lies in its hybrid text-processing model, which is capable of accurately extracting necessary information even from difficult-to-interpret or incomplete hospital records. Ádám Bertalan, the professional lead of the development, said the key to the solution is precision and clinical relevance.

Based on renal function data and concurrently taken medications, the system immediately performs a risk prioritization of drug therapies. This decision-support function allows clinical pharmacists to focus on the most critical cases, directly increasing patient safety,"- added Ádám Bertalan.
The development is backed by a serious international scientific background: in addition to Hospitaly, experts from Semmelweis University, Széchenyi István University, and the Aarhus University in Denmark contributed to the project. The success of the procedure is evidenced by the fact that the methodology was published in the renowned journal Basic and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, and experts from eight countries have already participated in the testing phase.
