The article introduces the development of the AUGMERIS calculator. The Augmented Medication Risk Score (AUGMERIS) calculator is an artificial intelligence-supported web application designed for the automated assessment of medication therapies using the Danish Medication Risk Score (MERIS) method.
The Augmented Medication Risk Score (AUGMERIS) calculator is an artificial intelligence-supported web application designed for the automated assessment of medication therapies using the Danish Medication Risk Score (MERIS) method. The AUGMERIS calculator is a tool that assesses the risk of drug therapy based on the concurrently used medications and kidney function (estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate, eGFR). Its purpose is to assist hospital pharmacists in identifying patients who are most in need of a medication review. Healthcare data is often unstructured and difficult for conventional computer systems to interpret. The brilliance of this development is that it solves this problem with a hybrid text processing model. This model combines strict, reliable algorithms with state-of-the-art AI-based procedures, allowing AUGMERIS to accurately extract the necessary information even from data found in lower-quality electronic health records (EHRs). The success of the application is demonstrated by the international attention it received even during the initial testing phase: volunteer testers from eight different countries performed a total of 383 trial calculations with the tool. The tool was tested and appears to have performed well. The ultimate goal of using the application is not to replace human resources, but to support the work of clinical pharmacists, thereby making healthcare safer. The potential of the AUGMERIS calculator is enormous:

• Improves Patient Safety: the rapid and automatic identification of risk allows for early medication review.
• Optimizes Treatments: assists physicians and pharmacists in developing more effective pharmacotherapy.
• Global Impact: it can be applied in any healthcare system, and its widespread adoption could lead to worldwide improvement in medication management.

One of the unique aspects of the project is the collaboration between several independent institutions, including the Semmelweis University, the Széchenyi University, the Aarhus University in Denmark, and Hospitaly Kft., who are working together on this innovative and exciting task.

During his presentation, a best practice example was introduced — OnkoLogistic Our oncology pathway management software, OnkoLogistic, was also presented as a best practice example. This advanced application operates above traditional medical systems and manages patient pathways in close collaboration with the OnkoNetwork methodology, developed by Prof. Dr. Imre Repa and his team at the Somogy County Kaposi Mór Teaching Hospital back in 2015.
